Postal worker shot at with pellet gun in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Someone shot a pellet gun Friday at a postal worker in Lincoln, police say.
It happened about 12:20 p.m. near 64th Street and Havelock Avenue.
Police said a black SUV drove by, and someone inside fired at the worker.
The victim was not injured, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
Meg Damme, who lives nearby, said she was shocked to hear what happened.
“It’s terrible,” Damme said. “He’s a great guy. He brings me my mail. Why would you do that? It just seems so random and violent and sad.”
Police said they don’t have a description of the shooter.
Damme doesn’t believe it could be targeted.
“I can’t imagine it being personal, so it’s completely random.” she said. “It could’ve been me.”
Channel 8 talked to Lincoln’s postmaster.
He said this was a seemingly random incident and the Postal Service is not worried for the safety of its mail carriers.
