Potentially warm Tuesday with PM thunderstorms 3/29/2022
Your Tuesday is off to a pretty mild start with temperatures in the 30s and 40s. Wind speeds are already around 10-20 mph though, so it is making it feel more like the 20s. Make sure to grab your coat before you head out the door and keep it near you just in case. Temperatures will make a run for the 70s and 80s today but this is heavily dependent on a warm front that is expected to shift northward today. If the front doesn’t inch close enough to I-80, highs might only reach the 50s! Fire weather is also a concern this afternoon and evening across the area. Please avoid burning, open flames and throwing cigarettes out car winds. A Red Flag Warning will be in effect from 1-8 PM. Thunderstorms will fire up this evening, most likely after the evening commute. Some of these storms have the potential to be on the strong to severe side over a portion of the viewing area. Strong wind gusts and hail are the primary threats, but we can’t rule out the potential for tornadoes. Storms will start to wrap up around midnight before another round of precipitation arrives throughout the day on Wednesday in the form of scattered showers. The next few days will be windy, cool and full of more precipitation chances. Make sure to check back daily for updates.
