LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Prime Day is underway, and Nebraska authorities want everyone to prepare for a spike in porch pirates.

While you may feel like you’re stealing from Amazon with all of the big discounts, thieves will be looking to steal your orders as they’re delivered.

The York Police Department urges everyone to take preventive measures.

That includes installing security cameras and making use of secure delivery options.

For anyone still shopping, the department encourages you to make sure your security software is updated.

Police say you should also be extra cautious when using public Wi-Fi. Don’t click on anything suspicious, and consider scaling back how much you share online.
