Property taxes for Lincoln Airport will nearly double after council OKs budget

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln City Council voted 5-2 on Monday night to approve the airport’s proposed $25 million budget.
Under the plan, the Lincoln Airport Authority’s property tax levy will almost double, from 1.67 cents to 3.1 cents per $100,000 of valuation.
That means the owner of a $281,000 house, the median price in Lincoln, will pay $87 a year.

The airport said the tax increase will pay for crucial maintenance projects like bridge repair and building demolition.
LNK’s new budget also funds the new terminal and a runway project.
