Protestors gather outside of Rep. Mike Flood’s office for second day in a row
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Union members from across Nebraska gathered Wednesday afternoon to voice their complaints with Rep. Mike Flood.
This was the second day in a row that a protest was held outside of Flood’s Lincoln office.
Dozens of protestors said they are unhappy with a variety of things going on in the government, such as federal cuts and layoffs.
The American Federation of Government Employees Local 3928 said it is concerned about possible cuts to retirement and health care benefits in the budget bill passed last week.
But Flood said that resolution does not cut retirement.
The union was planning to speak with Flood about their complaints, but his office closed at 4:45 p.m. The protest began at 5 p.m.
A spokesman for Flood said the office hours are listed outside the office and on Flood’s website.
On Tuesday, a group called stand Stand Up Lincoln voiced similar concerns at a rally outside Flood’s office.
Protestors told Channel 8 they’re fearful about the current administration “dismantling the government.”
