Quiet and warm weather on Black Friday
While Black Friday kicked off on a chiller note, the afternoon looks much warmer. We’re forecasting high temperatures in the middle and upper-50s across the area, near 57° in Lincoln. Skies will be mostly sunny, so we don’t expect any issues from cloud cover or precipitation.
There aren’t too many travel concerns for Friday in the general vicinity of Nebraska. For most areas within driving distance, the weather will cooperate.
Saturday should be another warm day with a high near 60° in Lincoln. As of now, it appears to be a mostly dry day as well. While we’ll likely see a lot of sunshine on Saturday, more clouds will move into the area on Saturday evening as a system moves to our southeast.
By Saturday night, that system could bring some rain to the southeast corner of the state. Chances of seeing this late Saturday increase the farther southeast you’re located. If things track just right, the rain could miss us altogether. It’s something to watch for now.
Temperatures remain near normal or above-average through Monday, but a more potent storm system arrives on Tuesday which could be enough to knock temperatures down a few notches by the middle of next week. Some wintry precipitation is also possible as that disturbance moves through on Tuesday.
