Quiet for now; Looking ahead to Memorial Day weekend
If you enjoyed the weather on Sunday, we’re basically copying and pasting that forecast over into Monday. The majority are waking up to mostly sunny skies, with temperatures in the 50s. By afternoon, high temperatures will top out in the low to mid-80s.
Rain chances appear very low on Monday. A hit-or-miss shower can’t be ruled out in western Nebraska by Monday afternoon and evening, but these will probably be more miss than hit. That is if they can even develop in the first place.
The weather is looking warm, dry, and quiet through Wednesday. The overall pattern should turn more unsettled late this week, lasting through Memorial Day weekend. Even so, the latest data suggest that the majority of any moisture falls in western Nebraska.
All it takes is a minor shift in the upper-air pattern for things to slide east. We’ll keep our fingers crossed, but for now, the early indications point toward the majority of rain late this week and into next week falling in western Nebraska.
