Racing club holds national championships in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Sports Car Club of America started its national championship races on Tuesday.

The races run through Friday afternoon at the Lincoln Airport.

Cars of all varieties, from go-karts to modified race cars, compete for the fastest time to be crowned as a national champion.

Over 1,300 drivers entered the competition, which costs up to $325 for registration.

“This event is kind of like a big family reunion,” driver Michelle Quinn said. “We all get together and just have fun.”

The event has been hosted at the Lincoln Airport for over 10 years in a row.
