Rain and snow expected through Friday morning

Thursday Evening Weather Update March 17, 2022

Rain will continue to fall along and south of I-80 through Friday morning.  Rain could fall at a heavy clip at times.  Even a few rumbles of thunder will be possible, especially in the extreme southeast corner of the state.

As temperatures cool a few thousand feet above the ground, rain may begin to change over to snow.  The best chance for this is in the extreme southeast corner of the state (southeast of Lincoln).  A couple inches of snow is not out of the question by sunrise Friday.  Temperatures will be critical as to whether or not there will be measurable snow.  We’re talking a degree or two making the difference between snow or just rain.
