Rain exits, becoming sunny and windy
After a fair amount of rain on Sunday night, most of the widespread activity has pushed east as of Monday morning. Any lingering showers will quickly move out of the area, with rain chances dropping off after 7 a.m. Monday.
While low clouds may stick around initially, sunshine will quickly overspread the area. We expect sunny skies for most of the day on Monday. High temperatures will be about 10° above average for Lincoln, in the middle-50s.
You will also notice the wind on Monday. We’ll have a blustery wind out of the northwest sustained anywhere from 15-25 mph through the day. Gusts may near 35 mph at times.
The next few days don’t look all too bad either, with highs near 50° and partly cloudy skies both on Tuesday and Wednesday. There is a small chance to see some isolated rain/snow showers in northern Nebraska on Tuesday, but I suspect Lincoln will remain dry.
By Thursday, we’ll be watching our next storm system. The majority of the energy will be to our south, and that’s where I expect the majority of the moisture to fall. However, we’ll be close enough to where some snow showers can’t be ruled out on Thursday. This is just something to watch for now.
