RECALL ALERT: “Amputation Hazard” with popular snowthrower

You need to take it back to an authorized dealer for repairs

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Toro is recalling nearly 7,000 Power Max Snowthrowers right in the middle of an intense winter season nationwide.

Toro says the auger can fail to disengage when the control lever is released, which poses an “amputation hazard”. If you have this device you need to stop using it immediately.

These were sold at Home Depot, Ace Hardware and Toro Authorized Dealers nationwide from November 2020 through January 2021. Serial numbers would be in the ranges listed below.

Five people have reported issues with this snowthrower, but no amputations or injuries have been reported.
