RECALL ALERT: Avanti Frozen Foods pulls several shrimp products

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Several shrimp products have been recalled by its producer, Avanti Frozen Foods, due to a potential salmonella contamination.
The company said it would be recalling “various sizes of frozen cooked, peeled, deveined, shrimp (with some packaged with cocktail sauce).” These products were distributed from late December 2020 to late February 2021
Salmonella can cause serious infections in young children and vulnerable adults. Common symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
So far, there have been six reports of Salmonella-related illness related to these products.
