Record breaking Friday temperatures
The warmest day of the week is finally here! We are starting off your Friday with comfortable conditions in the 60s but that all will change by the afternoon. Winds out of the south will turn gusty and help us warm temperatures to the upper 80s and lower 90s. Several high temperature records will likely be set on this summer like day in October. The high wind speeds will also kick up any harvest dust and pose some minor health issues today.
We hold onto the 80s for the weekend but come Sunday evening rain finally returns. Total amounts are currently looking on the low side and are below half of an inch. But some rain is better than none, considering Nebraska drought situation has gotten worse. This rain gives us some much needed moisture and also helps knock our temperatures back down to average by next week.
