Outside of the student union at UNL, a dozen people got together in an effort to break a world record.

"We’re actually going to break the world record for the largest mosaic built with plastic bricks so lego brick, we’re using lego construction bricks actually we’re building a Husker N. It’s a white N on a red background that’s 37 ft by 47 ft so 1700 square feet," said John Lang the event organizer.

This isn’t the first time John Lang has done this type of project. He did this last year and created a mosaic, but since this is so much bigger it takes a little more help and work.

"These are our bases what we did was we got 40 inch by 80 inch sheets of and we screwed them together and we laid out and glued the base plates down so you could place the bricks all together and keep them separate but also section them off separately so that you can put them together and them we will move everything," added Lang.

But John isn’t just doing this for fun, he is hoping he can raise money for a cause close to his heart with St. Jude’s.

"There’s a couple of reasons actually just cause it’s you know the huskers are a huge thing in the state everyone here is pretty much everyone here is a husker fan you know when we got the new coach Scott Frost coming back which is a huge thing a new Scott Frost era and we just though raise money for St. Jude everything kind tied together," says Lang.

John’s goal is to reach one dollar for every seat in Memorial Stadium, so he is hoping to get to 90,000 dollars for St. Jude. You can stop by on game-day tomorrow and see it, and leave a donation if you want.
