Refrigeration unit fire prompts evacuation of Russ’s Market in northeast Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Shoppers at Russ’s Market in northeast Lincoln were evacuated Wednesday due to a fire.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews were sent around 11:30 a.m. to the grocery store near 64th Street and Havelock Avenue.
LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said someone noticed smoke coming from a refrigeration unit outside the grocery store.
People also reported smelling smoke inside the Russ’s Market.
Firefighters found the blaze in the exterior siding of the refrigeration unit, according to Lierman.
No one was injured, and the amount of damage is unknown.
A NOW Local News App user shared a video of the scene, which showed people waiting outside the grocery store as crews put out the fire.
