Registration opens for Lincoln Parks and Recreation summer camps

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Registration opened Monday for a slew of summer camps provided by Lincoln Parks and Recreation.
You can register for summer day camps, adaptive recreation camps and nature camps by visiting the city’s website.
City summer camps start on June 2 and run through Aug. 8. Parks and Rec charges $195 for five-day sessions and $155 for four-day sessions, along with a $20 enrollment fee.
This year, the city is offering three different nature camps that will be held at the Pioneers Park Nature Center:
- Discovery (ages 3 through 6): Offered from 9 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, June 2-5, June 9-12, June 30-July 3, July 7-10, July 21-24, and July 28-31. The fee is $110 per child per session.
- Explorer (completed kindergarten through grade five): Offered from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday June 2-6, June 9-13, June 16-18, June 23-27, July 14-18, July 21-25, July 28-Aug 1, and Aug 4-8. The fee is $232 per five-day week or $138 per three-day week per child, per session.
- Navigators (completed grades six through eight): Offered from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 30-July 2 and July 7-11, The fee is $138 per three-day week and $232 per five-day week per child. There are also a few options for adaptive recreation day camps during the summer:
- Art Camp is offered from 9 a.m. to noon June 2-6 for campers age 13 and older. This weeklong camp includes projects in a variety of mediums and ends with an art show for family and friends. Fee is $90.
- Drama Camp is offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9-13 for campers age 13 and older. Campers will prepare a play by running lines, blocking scenes, creating the set design and costumes. The camp ends with a showcase performance for family and friends. Fee is $120.
- SumFun Camp is offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from June 16-27 and July 7-18 for children grade one through age 21. Campers will connect with new and old friends in this fun, classic camp environment with activities including games, swimming, field trips, crafts, and music. Individual weekly fee is $100, and four-day weeks are $80. Extended care hours available.

Youth golfers have the option to take part in 8-week-long camps at Ager Golf Course. The program includes instruction from a PGA professional with golf equipment and teaching aids.
