Repeated, nightly storm chances to end July
Storms Saturday morning brought heavy rain and damaging winds. Some stronger wind gusts were reported above 80 mph in a couple spots, as this storm complex largely brought wind instead of hail.

After a very active morning through southeast Nebraska, we cleared out and experienced cooler temperatures for once to start this weekend. This evening will be rather pleasant as temperatures cool more than we’ve seen in nights past.
That’s through the first part of the night. Similarly to Saturday morning, we could be waking up to storms once again on Sunday. This time, storms are not expected to be as widespread. Any storms that come around this time could bring strong winds and hail with them. The timing of these storms also mirror Saturday morning’s round.
Our latest model runs have been holding off on most of the storms, not having them reach Lincoln. There is one model that brings chances toward Lincoln between 4 and 8 a.m. Sunday, but again, scattered in nature. There is less certainty in this event as we see if the atmosphere can rebound from Saturday morning’s storms.
By the afternoon, even if we just see some added cloud cover Sunday morning, we should be mostly sunny for the second half of the day.
Depending on what we see Sunday morning, there’s another chance strong to severe storms make it to central and eastern Nebraska overnight into early Monday. The weather pattern we are in sets us up for almost nightly storm chances through the middle of next week, the very beginning of August.
What has been the month of July and into the beginning of August, really feels like what we normally see through May and June! Lots of rain through this month, and we love to see it.
