‘Resilience Survivorship Summit’ for cancer survivors to come to Lincoln

(PRESS RELEASE) – Resilience Survivorship is the first event of its kind to address the emotional and physical aspects of cancer survivorship for the individuals, families and friends. Welcoming both men and women, survivors of all types of cancer, and at any stage of a diagnosis to the host site Lincoln Berean Church on March 2, to be educated by 13 dynamic speakers who will deliver cutting edge knowledge and inspiration to participants. Topics will include Legacy Writing, art, music, wellness, Image Recovery, Yoga for Cancer, Sexual & Intimacy Recovery and global motivational speaker and Ninja Warrior Veteran Maggi Thorne. “You don’t want to miss this event” noted Dr. Bender.

Dr. Tracy Bender is an Occupational Therapist and the director of rehabilitation at the Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center, specializing in oncology rehabilitation and lymphedema. She is also a Certified Mastectomy Fitter and certified Restorative Yoga Instructor. She works with patients with all different types of cancer, at all phases of the disease process, and throughout survivorship.
Due to the growing emotional and physical needs of survivors of cancer, she founded a company called Resilience Survivorship to provide needed education, tools and resources to address those needs. She is very passionate about providing comprehensive care to all cancer survivors, and paving the way for more advanced development of oncology rehab and lymphedema services throughout the United States. She is also a trainee and applicant of the NBC hit show, American Ninja Warrior, Seasons 10 and 11, as an advocate for those suffering from lymphedema and the effects of cancer.
