Resilience Suvivorship Empowerment conference seeks to empower those who are battling cancer

At the Lincoln Berean church it was the very first annual Resilience Survivorship Empowerment conference.

It’s a conference and a place to go for those who are fighting cancer to be together and build a community.

“After ten years of working in cancer care I’ve just realized that there is so many things missing for emotionally and physical recovery. So bringing in all of these people together is just trying to create a bigger resource in a unbreakable motivation for patients to know that there’s a possibility for that kind of healing,” Dr. Tracy Bender the event organizer said.

This conference brings a greater sense of community to those who are battling cancer, because all of the people at the conference are either battling cancer or they are a doctor who specializes in treating cancer.

The community that are building brings hope to those who are still in the fight for their life.

“When I look around the room I see hope, I see hope, hope for life. Hope for friendship. Hope for love,” David V. Wenzel who is battling cancer said.
