Retired firefighter having tree sculpted into firefighter

A retired Lincoln firefighter has quite the lawn decoration in his front yard.

Bill Hershberger lives near Leighton Ave. and North Cotner Blvd.  He decided to do something with his ash tree.

Nate Hall, owner of 3 Timber Studio is sculpting it into a firefighter climbing a ladder.

Hall said he’s happy to do the work as a tribute to the work firefighters do for the community.

“It takes a lot of dedication to do that job and it’s very important to so many peoples’ lives,” Hall said.  “The things that they do for people and first responders.”

Hall said he’s put in around 30 hours of work so far and he still has touching up to do on the project.  He expects it to be complete by Saturday night.
