Retired Omaha Fire Department dog gets a sweet reward
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Alley, a retired Omaha Fire Department dog, got a sweet treat for her hard work on the force.
In a post to Facebook, the Omaha Fire Department said Friday that Alley was “checking in” from the “retired shift.”
“She recently got to experience her very first ‘pup cup’ from a local coffee shop and it is safe to say that she loved it!” the fire department wrote.
In 2021, Alley became Nebraska’s only ignitable liquid-detection canine, also referred to as an “arson dog,” according to OFD.
During her time with the department, Alley helped with over 100 fire investigations, with several resulting in an arrest, OFD said.
After her retirement in February, Alley became Fire Investigator Dave Sobotka’s family dog.
