Ricketts names Omaha dietitian to open legislative seat

Nebraska has a new state senator.

Governor Ricketts named Nicole Fox of Omaha to replace former state Senator Jeremy Nordquist. He resigned to take a job in Washington. 

Fox is a registered Republican. She is a dietitian who teaches at UNMC.

She will stand for election in 2016 in a heavily Democratic southern Omaha district.
