Ricketts retains another term as Nebraska Governor

A big victory for Pete Ricketts. We spoke with both him and his opponent Bob Krist about Tuesday nights results.

Ricketts was in Omaha at the Regency Hotel when the results were released.

“The team has worked really hard over this past summer and couple months, we’ve been all in across the state, we have a great team, a lot of volunteers and so we’re excited about the evening,” said Ricketts.

His democratic opponent Bob Krist was in Lincoln at the Single Barrel.

Krist went from being a Republican to a registered Democrat in order to go up against Governor Ricketts.

“Today I’m going to tell you, I’m meant at the very beginning to be here on November 6th and here I stand to face off with Governor Ricketts with more leadership skills, with more understanding of the state having spent 10 years in the legislative process,” said Krist.

Ricketts and Krist had differences on issues including property taxes and prison reform.

Governor Pete Ricketts says he has made major progress in his 4 years as Nebraska’s leader and will continue to do so.
