RMV Entertainment: Helping Lincoln artists succeed

Celebrating Black-owned businesses in Lincoln for Black history month

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) – About 20 years ago, Danel Jacques came to the U.S. from Haiti to attend UNL.

While in school, he started a band called RMV specializing in Caribbean-style music.

With the band, he created a recording studio in Lincoln. The band eventually broke up, but the studio remained and Danel kept the name RMV.

He started RMV Entertainment, where he records new and local artists. He also helps run the artists’ live shows.

Danel said he enjoys watching all the people he has helped prosper and develop.

While RMV is a small business, Danel makes sure that he has the latest technology.

“I wanted to make sure that I have something any artist that’s traveling across Lincoln, or that’s in Lincoln, as soon as they come here, they realize that ‘he does have what everybody else has; he has the main standard,'” Danel said.

RMV prides itself on providing multiple services and giving new and local artists what they need to succeed.

“One thing we tell the artists is that we can make you sound good in the studio, and if you take our service, we’ll make you sound pretty good out there because we already know your sound, and that’s why we offer you different sets,” Danel said. “We have a set as big as a mini-concert set.”

RMV is located near Cotner Boulevard and R Street. To learn more about RMV, go to its website.
