LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The road to Omaha is set, and the Nebraska baseball team found out its first stop on Monday.

The Huskers will head to the Chapel Hill Regional — hosted by No. 5 North Carolina — along with Holy Cross and Oklahoma.


Nebraska is the No. 3 seed in the regional and will play its first game against No. 2-seeded Oklahoma.

The Huskers (32-27, 15-15 B1G) are coming off an unprecedented run in the Big Ten Tournament, winning back-to-back conference titles.

Oklahoma (35-20, 14-16 SEC) enters the NCAA Tournament after winning two games at the SEC Tournament.

The Sooners, seeded 12th, beat Kentucky in their first round game before beating 5-seed Georgia in the second round. OU fell to Vanderbilt in the quarterfinals.

North Carolina is the highest-ranked non-SEC squad in the field of 64.

UNC (42-12, 18-11 ACC) finished third in the ACC during the regular season.

The Tar Heels are coming of an ACC conference tournament title after winning seven of their final nine regular-season contests.

Monday’s selection marks Nebraska’s 19th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and the 16th appearance in the last 25 seasons.

This is Nebraska’s third NCAA Tournament appearance under Head Coach Will Bolt.

Nebraska’s game against Oklahoma is set for Friday at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
