Road to the Women’s Freedom Rally at Frontier Harley-Davidson

The Women’s Freedom Ride is a group of women who ride their motorcycles together all over the country, meeting more cyclist in different cities as they go.

Last year they traveled through 23 states.

The Frontier Harley-Davidson in Lincoln held a rally for the group of women before they take off to their next city.

“You can’t go anywhere without seeing a female rider, and it’s just awesome to see many female riders riding in groups, in sync, all together, riding as one,” Tina Seacrest, a rider with the group, said.

The money collected along the way all go towards wounded female veterans.

In 2018 they raised more than 30 thousand dollars.

They were able to send disabled veterans on retreats, donate to medical expenses and buy a prosthetic arm for a soldier.

Many of the women who ride are also veterans.

The riders love the camaraderie and the empowerment they feel when riding in a big group.

“It’s women supporting women, and there’s not a lot of female riders, so this is a great opportunity for all of us to get together and enjoy each others company and ride,” Sharon Water, a rider with the group, said.

While they’re at their final stop in Topeka, Kansas, they’re hoping to break a world record by having the most female rider in one location riding together.
