Arrest made in armed robbery of southeast Nebraska vape shop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man accused of breaking into a southeast Nebraska vape shop Sunday night has been arrested.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that 53-year-old Detharoun Sihakhom was taken into custody at a home in Tecumseh.

The Nebraska State Patrol SWAT team made the arrest and turned Sihakhom over to deputies.

On Sunday around 6:45 p.m., Sihakhom entered Vape Town in Syracuse with a handgun and demanded money, according to the sheriff’s office.

He took the clerk to the back of the store and tied them up before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk, who was not injured, got free a little later and called 911.

Sihakhom is in the Otoe County Jail on charges of robbery, first-degree false imprisonment and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

The sheriff’s office said tips from businesses and the public helped deputies catch him.
