Five people were involved in a single-car crash near 27th and O Streets on Wednesday morning.
The wreck happened around 3:30, with the Lincoln Police Department and Lincoln Fire & Rescue quickly arriving on the scene.
We’re told the vehicle was traveling westbound on O Street when it lost control, then veered off the road before crashing into a retainer wall at the Budget Inn Hotel and flipping over.
LPD said a small gas spill was originally a cause for concern but didn’t present any immediate danger.
“Apparently, there was some gas and maybe some smoke from the engine compartment that had officers a little concerned. But LFR got here but quickly and say it was extinguished,” Capt. Max Hubka said.
Two of the vehicle’s five occupants were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
