“Room temperature air” on Sunday

High temperatures eclipsed the 70° mark in the capital city on Saturday, making for a very pleasant day! Mostly clear skies will persist Saturday evening, overnight, and into Sunday morning with some high clouds streaming in. Temperatures should start out in the 40s on Sunday.

Saturday Night Forecast

Sunday looks to be another dry day with high clouds for the better half of the day. Those clouds should begin to depart by the afternoon, with full sunshine possible at times in some areas. You’ll also likely notice the earlier sunset as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end on Sunday. Sunset will be at 5:16 PM on Sunday in Lincoln.

It’ll be another unseasonably warm day with a high near 72° in Lincoln. Keep in mind that the “normal” high this time of year is in the middle-50s.

Sunday Forecast

Temperatures begin to tumble on Monday as a front approaches. Some morning fog is possible along with a few pockets of mist on Monday, but no measurable rainfall is expected at this time.

Computer model guidance is struggling to get a grip on how Monday plays out. Computer models suggest a wide range of possible high temperatures, and it seems closely tied to how intense morning fog/low clouds are and how long they persist into the afternoon. For now, we keep clouds in the forecast on Monday with highs in the upper-50s.

A weak disturbance arrives late Monday which should yield another batch of cloudiness, but it doesn’t appear to be strong enough to produce rain. However, a stronger system arrives on Wednesday which gives eastern Nebraska a better shot at seeing some light rain.

Stormcast Wednesday Morning

After Wednesday, we expect temperatures to drop and conditions to dry out for many behind that system.
