LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Heat threatened to spoil the start of high school football on Friday night, but the temperature dropped in time for games to be played in Lincoln.

Lincoln Lutheran 7, Lincoln Christian 0: Channel 8’s Game of the Week was a defensive battle, but the Warriors finally broke through on a flea-flicker.
Lincoln North Star 93, Omaha Benson 0: The Navigators knew their way around the field, setting a new Class A scoring record.
Lincoln Southwest 35, Lincoln High 0: It was a night of shutouts, with the Silver Hawks dominating in their first game under coach Grant Traynowitz.
Bellevue East 48, Lincoln Northeast 12: Chieftains quarterback Mason Chandler scored four touchdowns as the Rockets sputtered.
