Rural crews battle house fire south of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several rural fire crews battled flames overnight at a house south of Lincoln.

The fire was reported just after 11 p.m. Sunday at a home near 38th Street and Saltillo Road.

Luke Mattson, Hickman Fire and Rescue’s assistant chief, said the house was fully involved in flames.

Crews from Southwest, Southeast and Bennett were called in to help extinguish the blaze.

No one was home at the time of the fire, Mattson said.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshal is investigating what sparked the fire.
