Rural crews extinguish blaze after baler sparks grass fire near Crete
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Crete Fire & Rescue on Wednesday night battled a grass fire in the midst of a red flag warning in Nebraska.
First responders were called out just before 9:30 p.m. for a grass fire that was started by a baler.
Southwest Fire Department, Pleasant Dale Volunteer Fire and Hallam Fire & Rescue all responded to the scene as mutual aid.
After nearly two and a half hours on the scene, all units were cleared from the field.
The red flag warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. tonight.
