Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal crash in Gretna

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man was killed on Sunday after a crash in Gretna.

Just after 5:15 p.m., the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office and the Gretna Fire Department responded to a crash at the intersection of Highway 6 and Jansen Drive.

According to the sheriff’s office, 69-year-old Douglas Mumm of Springfield was driving north on Highway 6, attempting to turn west onto Jansen Drive.

Joshua Bauer, 21, was driving south on Highway 6 when he collided with Mumm, the sheriff’s office said.

Mumm was taken to CHI Bergan Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Bauer was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

The crash is still under investigation by the Sarpy County Crash Response Unit.

According to the sheriff’s office, speed is being looked into as a contributing factor of the crash.
