Saunders Co. Sheriff: video demonstrates danger of distracted driving

MEAD, Neb. (KLKN) –

Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz stated how the outcome of a crash can be determined by split decision making saving just inches of space, and potentially a life.

In the case of this two vehicle accident on Highway 77 north of the Highway 92 junction near Mead, Stukenholtz stated that he believed the split decision making from both the ongoing vehicle and the witness saved the accident from becoming a fatality accident.

The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office also warns on Facebook the dangers of driving at high speeds and say officers are out patrolling the roads to keep everyone safe.

Stukenholtz reminded everyone to remain safe and that split second decision making to minimize force of the impact can make a large difference in the outcome of a crash.
