Scammer impersonating Gage County sheriff’s deputy

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Gage County Sheriff’s office is warning residents about a scam going around.

Several people have received phone calls from someone claiming to be a Gage County deputy.

The caller claims the victim has a warrant out for their arrest.

The scammer is using the name of an active-duty deputy and may also have knowledge of victims’ personal information.

If you’ve been targeted, do not make any payments. until you’ve contacted the sheriff’s office directly.
