Scattered rain showers through Monday- Warming up Tuesday
Monday morning, a few light to moderate rain showers in parts of SE Nebraska. Due to the rain and soil moisture, there could be some areas of patchy fog in SE Nebraska. Monday afternoon, temperatures will be below average in the low to mid 80s under mostly cloudy skies. Another chance for scattered isolated thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening. Starting Tuesday, temperatures will warm back up into the upper 80s and lower 90s with rain chances slim until the weekend.
Low temperatures across southeast Nebraska tonight fall to the low to mid 60s with partly cloudy skies. A stray shower or two will be possible Monday morning, with winds staying calm.
Another mild day ahead on Monday for southeast Nebraska. High temperatures will reach the low to mid 80s with partly sunny skies and a northeasterly wind.
Here are the top 4 rain totals from the Sunday morning storms. The Lincoln airport received 3.16 inches of rain between midnight and 6 a.m. This is a new single-day precipitation record for August 10, with the previous record set on August 10, 1968 at 1.33″.
Wind reports from Sunday morning were all CAT 1 hurricane wind speeds. Thayer county near Hebron and Superior had the top winds of 90 mph.
