Scattered showers bring light rain Friday before the weekend
It’s been nice to see moisture across the state this week, and even over the past two weeks which has meant some improvement to the drought.
You can compare two weeks ago (mid-March) to the latest map released Thursday below.
Rain has held off to the west through southwest and central Nebraska over the past 12 hours (Thursday evening into Friday morning so far).
More scattered showers are expected to develop beyond noon today for the afternoon and tonight.
Rainfall through Friday night looks to end up around a tenth of an inch for much of southeast Nebraska.
There will be a cooler feel to Friday with clouds and colder air across the state.
Temperatures late this afternoon and evening will be anywhere from the 30s to the lower 50s from west to east.
By Saturday, we’ll clear out again with a northerly breeze picking up. That will keep temperatures in the lower 50s for another day before warming to near normal on Sunday.
Everyone should be seeing a cooler day Saturday in the upper 40s and lower 50s before warming on Sunday.
There will be a very nice warm up by the second half of next week – middle 70s by next Wednesday and then potential 80s by the following weekend!
