School employee killed in ‘industrial accident’ at Omaha high school

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Elkhorn School District employee died Wednesday in an “industrial accident,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says.

Around 10:20 a.m., deputies and the Omaha Fire Department responded to the scene at Elkhorn North High School.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the victim, Kevin Garrison, who was a maintenance employee.

He was fatally injured while working at a job site near the football field, the sheriff’s office said.  An investigation is ongoing.

The sheriff’s office said there was “never any threat or danger to anyone” at the high school.
