Scientists are saying we need systematic change to curb global warming

According to some climate change experts, Earth could be reaching a point of no return.

BERLIN (KLKN) – A climate change group is warning warn the results of it’s next comprehensive report may be more grim than expected.

According to the Associated Press, the United Nations’ intergovernmental panel on climate change, a collection of hundreds of the world’s top scientists, issues three huge reports on climate change every five to seven years.

The newest report is expected to be completed at the end of February.  It will include information on the affects of climate change we are already seeing, the possibilities in the future, and how it will affect our own lives.

“We are losing living spaces for species and for ourselves as well because with climate change, some parts of the planet would become uninhabitable, “The report’s co-chair Hans-Otto Poertner, a German biologist, said.

Poertner says there are”tipping points”, and many places on Earth are close to, if not over, those limits.

The panel stressed it is not trying to instill fear in the younger generations. They are aiming their reports at government leaders around the world.
