Seasonable feel to Thursday; rain especially late Friday into Saturday for Nebraska

Speaking of winter, a blast of snow for some closer to the Colorado border yesterday in southwest Nebraska. Below is a look at snow totals from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday (November 6-7th, 2024).

Temperatures starting in the lower 40s still have a chilly feel to them early. Not nearly as cold as some teens out in the Panhandle this morning.

While an overcast look will appear to start the day, we’ll lean more toward sunny conditions this afternoon with highs in the mid 50s.

Thursday will be dry and most of Friday (at least through the morning hours) will be, too. Scattered showers will move north by the afternoon, but most rain is expected to fall late Friday night into the early hours of Saturday.

This system will spin across Nebraska, moving more rain in statewide by Friday night. Most precipitation across Nebraska looks to stay in the form of rain. Not all of Saturday will be raining, but we’ll remain cloudy and cool the second half of the day.

Models are hinting at widespread rain amounts nearing 0.50 – 0.75″ for much of southern Nebraska, if not more toward the Kansas border.

Then by Sunday, we’ll start to slightly warm with the sun returning.
