Seasonal April temperatures return today 4/20/2022

You won’t need your winter coat this morning! Temperatures are currently in the low to mid-50s thanks to cloud cover that prevented us from cooling overnight. You might want to grab the umbrella though, because spotty showers are likely this morning. Clouds push out by the afternoon, leaving us with sunny skies and seasonal April highs in the mid to upper 60s! Areas to our west and south could even reach the low 70s. This warmer weather continues into the weekend, with highs warming into the upper 80s Friday and low 80s on Saturday. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to soak up sunshine with the warm temperatures. Several chances of rain are likely through Saturday with the potential for severe weather. Thunderstorms will fire up Thursday evening and some of these storms could be severe near the Kansas border. The severe risk becomes more widespread on Friday with a slight risk for severe weather across central and eastern NE. Make sure to check back for storm updates the next several days.
