Second man arrested in deadly shooting in west Lincoln parking lot

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A second man was arrested Wednesday in connection to a deadly shooting last month in west Lincoln.

The Lincoln Police Department said Kaeylab Gonzales, 20, was taken into custody after a search warrant was served at his home.

He is lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of several charges, including first-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Police said Gonzales was involved in the killing of 25-year-old Francisco Alvis in a parking lot at South Coddington Avenue and West A streets on July 5.

Ge’Auvieon Crayton, 20, has also been charged with first-degree murder in the slaying.  He was arrested less than 24 hours after the shooting.

Police said Crayton shot Alvis inside a pickup truck during a marijuana deal.

Investigators later searched Crayton’s home and found live rounds that matched the bullets recovered at the scene and a handgun magazine, according to police.

An investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
