Semi clipped power pole wire, causing outage in south Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A semitrailer temporarily knocked out power in south Lincoln early Friday morning, police say.

Around 4:30 a.m., a driver of a semi missed a turn near 10th and Van Dorn streets and went through an alley to redirect themselves.

While going through the alley, the semi clipped a power pole’s wire, causing an outage, police said.

The power was out for about an hour.

The driver was cited for negligent driving.  No one was injured.
