Semi crashes into van in northeast Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A semi crashed into a van in northeast Lincoln on Wednesday.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. at North 84th Street and Northern Lights Drive, just north of Holdrege Street.

A part of the intersection was closed as crews responded to the crash.  It has since been reopened.

Police said the semi driver swerved to avoid another vehicle at the intersection, leading to the crash.

The driver of that vehicle, a Wymore woman, was ticketed for failure to yield.

A user on the NOW Local News App shared a video of the scene, showing the van with extensive front-end damage.

The van is totaled, according to the police crash report, and its driver suffered minor injuries.

No one else was injured, police said.
