Semi driver injured in I-80 crash near York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Interstate 80 was closed near York on Tuesday morning after a semitrailer tipped over.

The York Fire Department was sent to the scene just before 7 a.m.

The semi was wrapped in the median barrier, and the driver was trapped inside, according to the fire department.

A tow truck helped lift the semi off of the barrier so crews could get the driver out.

Law enforcement closed I-80 so a helicopter could land and take the driver to a trauma center, authorities said.

The extent of the driver’s injuries is unknown.
