Semi loaded with supplies for flood victims leaves Lincoln for North Bend

A semi-truck loaded with supplies for flood victims in northeast Nebraska headed out from Lincoln this morning.

Christ Lincoln Church near 44th and Sumner spent all weekend packing the truck with food, water, and cleaning items.

They left around 9 a.m. Monday morning and headed out for North Bend. They also have plans to stop in Fremont once the roads open.

Christ Lincoln Church is still collecting donations and plans on making several trips to areas ravaged by flood waters.

“I did bring in another trailer. It’s open all day long, still bringing water I know they’ve been talking about extra shovels, buckets, and more cleaning supplies,” Ted Lowther, a member of Christ Lincoln Church and organizer of the fundraiser said.

The church has been getting requests for pet food, diapers, and formula.

Donations can be dropped off at the semi-truck in the church’s parking lot at any time. The doors to the semi are open or donations can be left on pallets behind the truck.
