LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A semitrailer full of gummy bears erupted into flames in central Nebraska on Tuesday.

Just before 4 a.m., deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were sent to Interstate 80 near Hershey on the report of a semitrailer on fire.

When deputies arrived, the trailer was fully engulfed in flames, and the driver had successfully unhooked the truck before the fire got out of control.

According to the sheriff’s department, the trailer was loaded with gummy bears and posed no hazmat risk.

Hershey and Sutherland volunteer fire departments responded to stop the spreading grass fire and extinguish the fire on the trailer.

There is no word on the cause of the fire.
