Senator Ben Sasse makes appearance on “The View”

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse was on the popular ABC show, The View.
The topic that brought the most conversation was his vote for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
He said he fought to delay the confirmation vote to get more information and that the accuser, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, deserved to be heard.
“I believe that she was terribly served by the whole way this thing played out as a circus, the media circus that the senate decided to throw itself in the middle of, not deliberating rights of accusers but also rights of the accuse but there were real core problems with her story when the FBI went and did more investigation,” said Senator Ben Sasse.
Another topic discussed was the family separation policy. Sasse says the senate is not doing nearly enough for the children who have been separated at the border.
“The senate needs to solve a whole bunch of these problems and right now there are a whole bunch of people content to do nothing. Alex Azar, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, I think is doing some great work trying to get metal through this as is the Homeland Security but this should have never happened,” said Senator Sasse.
Finally, they talked about Sasse’s new book which is called, ‘Why we hate each other and how to heal.’
The book aims to figure out what it is that’s made american politics so polarized, and to offer suggestions to reunite.
“The reason I wrote them is because I think the political tribalism that’s tamping in our country is down stream from a collapse of local tribes,” said Senator Sasse.
The book comes out not only three weeks before elections but right after a debate that tore an already divided nation a part, the fight over Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
