Serial shoplifter stole TV and soundbar, Lincoln Police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was arrested Thursday in connection with two shopliftings.
Scott Misek, 29, is charged with felony and misdemeanor shoplifting.
Police say he stole from two Lincoln stores in June — and court records say it was not his first time.
On June 18, the Walmart near 84th and Adams streets reported that someone had stolen a soundbar.
Police said surveillance video caught Misek walking out of the garden center, where there were no employees, without paying.
His girlfriend later pawned a soundbar of the same brand and model, according to an arrest affidavit.
Then on June 21, a shoplifting was reported at the Sam’s Club near 84th Street and Nebraska Parkway.
In that case, Misek put a 75-inch TV worth almost $1,300 in a cart and walked out, police said.
But another customer yelled at him in the parking lot, so the affidavit says Misek made a run for it, leaving the TV behind.
A warrant was issued for his arrest in August.
On Friday, a judge set Misek’s bond at $1,000. He paid $100 to be released.
In September 2022, Misek was found guilty of three shoplifting charges in Lancaster County. Court documents say he also stole a TV from Sam’s Club in that case.
Misek also has theft convictions in Butler, Hall and Hamilton counties, according to court records.
