Serihy Andriyashyn charged with 3rd-degree arson of a trailer fire in north Lincoln

A member of a Lincoln church is being accused of starting a fire on the church’s property this morning. Lincoln police say surveillance video captured 32-year-old Serihy Andriyashyn setting fire to a trailer’s refrigeration unit at the House of Prayer Christian Church on 14th and Morton Street in north Lincoln.

He also allegedly started a dumpster fire, after police found lighter fluid near the scene.

“He was identified as a church parishioner and was having recent problems with marriage counseling through the church,” Officer Angela Sands said.

Police found the suspect walking nearby, and now he faces 3rd-degree arson charges.

The estimated damage is 10,000 dollars.
